South Park Scattered Sites
Revitalizing Historic SRO Buildings
San Francisco, CA
The Scattered Sites project involves the rehabilitation of three historic Single Room Occupancy (SRO) buildings located in San Francisco: Hotel Madrid (22 South Park St), Parkview Hotel (102 South Park St), and Gran Oriente (106 South Park St). These buildings, each with its unique historic significance, are being transformed to provide 100% affordable housing for households making up to 80% AMI.
The rehabilitation work includes extensive upgrades to the Type V Wood Framed structures, restoring the architectural integrity of each while improving their functionality for modern living. Upon completion, the buildings will house 106 residential units, along with property management and resident services units. Ground-floor spaces will be dedicated to restaurant tenants, adding vibrancy to the neighborhood.
This project will not only preserve the historic character of these buildings but also provide much-needed affordable housing and essential services to the community, ensuring that these important landmarks continue to serve as valuable assets for years to come.
