La Fenix at 1950 Mission Street is a groundbreaking project for the Mission District, providing the first new construction rental community in decades, fully dedicated to affordable housing. This project is part of a broader effort to address the area’s housing crisis and create a vibrant, mixed-use community.

SCCS Group was retained by Mission Housing Development Corporation, the Master Landlord, to oversee the completion of the commercial tenanted spaces. Our team was responsible for managing pre-construction, construction, and the successful turnover of approximately 30,000 square feet of vital community spaces on the ground floor and in the courtyard. These spaces include a childcare and early head start center, artist studios, a bicycle shop, and a café—each contributing to the district’s economic and cultural vitality.

Through this project, SCCS Group helped ensure that the La Fenix development not only meets the pressing need for affordable housing but also fosters community engagement and economic opportunity.
